A refreshing twist on the classic iced long black with a subtle citrus lift. Made great with your 20 Bar Espresso Machine and fresh ice straight from your Ice Machine.
Serves 1
Ingredients
- 1 double shot of espresso
- 1 thin slice of orange
- 1 cup of ice
- 100ml cold water
Method
1. Fill a tall glass three quarters full with cold water and ice from your Ice Machine for convenience.
2. Place your slice of orange over the rim of your Espresso Cup so it sits beneath where the coffee will pour.
3. Using your 20 Bar Espresso Machine, fill the porter filter with two spoons of freshly ground coffee. To achieve a rich crema and full bodied espresso, look for recently roasted beans and grind fresh for each serving.
4. Pull the espresso directly through the orange slice into your Espresso Cup.
5. Remove the orange and slice in half to garnish. Pour the shot over your iced water, stir and enjoy!
Notes
The orange slice is there to perfume the espresso as it drips through, not to be juiced or muddled, a light touch gives the best result. Adjust the water to taste depending on how strong you like your long black. If black coffee isn’t to your liking, a splash of milk can cut through the bitterness of the espresso.
