Our Approach to Sustainability

Practical Sustainability

For over five years, Cooks Professional has been making practical, ongoing changes to reduce environmental impact across our day-to-day operations. Rather than one-off initiatives, we focus on improvements that can be embedded into how we work and scaled over time.

Where possible, we prioritise sea freight over air freight to reduce transport-related emissions. Our products are also prepared specifically for the courier network, ensuring they are secure in transit without unnecessary materials or excessive over-packing. This approach helps reduce waste while maintaining product protection and delivery efficiency.

Responsible Packaging

We are actively reducing the environmental impact of our packaging materials. This includes moving towards the use of paper tape and eliminating single-use plastics wherever possible.

Cardboard packaging is used in place of polystyrene, with moulded cardboard protection designed to provide strength while remaining fully recyclable.

Poly bags have been replaced with tissue paper and all boxes are left unvarnished so they can be easily recycled.

Every packaging decision is reviewed with recyclability, material reduction, and real-world transport needs in mind.

Repair, Reuse & Reduce

Extending product life is a key part of our environmental responsibility. Spare parts and accessories are available for most Cooks Professional products, allowing items to be repaired rather than replaced and helping to avoid unnecessary landfill.

Customer returns are carefully graded, repaired where appropriate and resold at a reduced rate. This process reduces waste, supports reuse and ensures products remain in circulation for as long as possible - benefiting both customers and the environment.

Responsible Sourcing

We work with trusted suppliers and take care to understand how our products are made. Factories are visited and assessed by independent inspectors to help ensure appropriate working conditions and responsible manufacturing practices.

We support recognised initiatives such as BSCI and SEDEX, which promote ethical standards, transparency and continuous improvement across supply chains. These assessments form part of our ongoing approach to responsible sourcing.

Cooks Professional is committed to compliance with the Modern Slavery Act and takes steps to identify, assess, and reduce the risk of modern slavery within our supply chain.
