WEEE Recycling

What are Cooks Professional’s obligations regarding WEEE?

Cooks Professional meets its obligations under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations by being a member of a Government-approved Distributor Take-Back Scheme (DTS), operated by Valpak Limited. Through this scheme, we contribute to the funding of a nationwide network of Designated Collection Facilities (DCFs), where UK consumers can dispose of their household WEEE free of charge for environmentally responsible recycling and treatment.

By supporting this scheme, we help promote the proper disposal, reuse and recycling of waste electricals. As we participate via the DTS, Cooks Professional does not directly accept WEEE returns or offer collection services.

Why Recycle Your Waste Electricals?

  • Preserving Resources: Recycling electrical products allows valuable materials -  such as metals, plastics, and glass - to be recovered and reused, reducing the demand for raw materials.
  • Reducing Environmental Impact: Electrical waste is the fastest-growing waste stream in both the UK and worldwide. Recycling prevents harmful substances like lead and mercury from entering landfill sites or being incinerated, which can pose risks to human health and the environment.
  • Preventing Pollution: Proper recycling reduces the risk of toxic materials contaminating soil and water, helping protect ecosystems and local communities.

How to Recycle Your Old Electricals

You can recycle your waste electricals by taking them to your nearest authorised recycling centre, which is equipped to handle and process a wide range of electronic waste.
